Britt Carlson Varsity Assistant Britt is a graduate student in environmental education at UMD. She loves living in northern Minnesota because there is so much to do! She spends the winter skiing, snowshoeing, building snow forts, doing school work, and watching the lake. While at St. Olaf College she coached the Northfield ski team for two, bad-snow years, so she is excited to be coaching a team in a place that actually gets snow!

Christa Knudsen Christa lived in Norway until she was 6, and her earliest memories of Nordic skiing are being towed in a “Pulk” behind her parents as they skied in the mountains. With an introduction like that, it is no wonder that she has loved the sport ever since. She got her first pair of skis at 2, and looks forward to every snowy winter of hitting the trails. Two years ago, she decided to ski the Korteloppet for the first time, and wound up finishing first in her age division – a huge surprise! She learned that skiing before sunrise (with a headlamp) is awesome, that winter sunrises are best viewed from a trail, and that she wants to compete in more long distance Nordic events…
Christa also loves music, running, swimming, spending time with her family and friends, and working at Marshall School where she is the Director of Admissions.

Brandy Forsman Jr. High Coach Brandy Forsman teaches Physical Science here at Marshall and thought it would be nice to give back to a sport that she loves. Mostly though she is excited for an excuse to get outside after school. For the past 6 years she has raced 3 marathon ski races each season. She may not be up in the elite wave, but she is perfectly content just doing her best and finishing with a smile. However, there is a small germ of competition growing. She has admitted that making it into the top 20 in her age group at the Birkie would be pretty cool. |
