More
than sixty years after the first students arrived at what is now
the Marshall School, a Library Initiative was started to renovate
our Library. Thanks to the generosity of many people, renovations
started and in October of 1999 our new refreshed library was launched.
Hundreds of new resources were added. The library also received
new carpeting, new furniture and new windows and doors.

of isle Royal, Duluth and the Brule River, hangs in the, appropriately
named, Julia Marshall Room of the Marshall School Library.
In December
2004, the Marshall School in recognition of Fred and Mary Lewis’
generosity and commitment to the arts and education, named the
library the Fred and Mary Lewis Library. |
